△ BOUNDARIES △⠀#repost from the divine @rebeccathoughts ⠀
You are being called to create clearer boundaries in your life. This could be with your friends, family, or work. Saying YES when you really mean NO leads to resentment, which is the biggest energy drain ever. At first it might only be a little bit and not feel like a big deal, but before you know it, your energy field becomes porous and you are left feeling depleted, resentful, or taken advantage of.⠀
⠀
Saying NO and having clear boundaries is actually a spiritual act. The most giving, loving, compassionate people are those with the clearest boundaries. For when they say YES, they are able to give unconditionally. When your boundaries are clear, others know where they stand and you are able to give freely. If you are not clear where your boundaries lie, this causes confusion, resentment, and energetic cords to be planted.⠀
⠀
If you are saying YES when you really mean ⠀
NO, you are likely needing something yourself. Ask yourself, what part of me NEEDS something from them? It could be a need for approval, a fear of being seen a certain way or a fear of loss. ⠀

The best way to gauge your boundaries is to check in with your belly. Your belly is the second brain. It has an intelligence known as your ‘gut feelings.’ Tune in to this space when deciding what is OK for you. How does it feel? What is it trying to communicate with you?⠀ ⠀

A friendship blessing, by John O’Donohue:
•
May you be blessed with good friends.
May you learn to be a good friend to yourself.
May you be able to journey to that place in your soul where there is great love, warmth, feeling and forgiveness.
May this change you.
May it transfigure that which is negative, distant, or cold in you.
May you be brought to the real passion, kinship, and affinity of belonging.
May you treasure your friends.
May you be good to them and may you be there for them;
May they bring you all the blessings, challenges, truth, and light that you need for your journey.
May you never be isolated.
May you always be in the gentle nest of belonging with your anam cara. Tag a friend below to share the blessing. ****

Such a powerful and heart wrenching share by @vishen founder of @mindvalley - #Repost ・・・
I bumped into this little girl when I was volunteering in a Syrian refugee camp in Athens with several @mindvalley students. I got permission from her mother to share this pic. Let's her call "Ema"
⠀
It was a surreal, yet beautiful experience meeting kids like her.
⠀
1 in every 110 people globally is either an asylum-seeker, internally displaced or a refugee.
⠀
These are good people. Many are lawyers, doctors, engineers with a large number of children fleeing war and natural disasters.
⠀
Refugees - including the caravan camped at the American border - are NOT illegal immigrants.
⠀
They are people applying for asylum - because they can't go home.
⠀
Ema escaped with her mom to a refugee camp in Turkey fleeing the war in Syria. There they got into a small life raft, pushed themselves into the ocean aiming to hit Greece. Hundreds died at sea. Ema survived.
⠀
The kids were so traumatized that when we arrived at the camps, all they wanted to do was hug us. They wouldn't let go.
⠀
The average child like Ema will spend 17 years in a camp with a mere 25% chance to get an education.
⠀
Sadly, these are the kind of people that political leaders with a nationalistic view use as a pawn. They create stories on how floods of refugees would destroy European culture. They talk of bogus walls to prevent these people from "invading" the USA.
⠀
Today we know the truth. The German government just announced that 300,000 refugees have successfully found jobs.
⠀
And the US government showed that refugees actually contribute to less crime than the average American.
⠀
The biggest threat in the world today isn't refugees. It's the threat that good people like you and me, close our hearts to their plight and believe the nationalist politicians who vilify innocent people.
⠀
Remember this the next you vote: Leaders who lack vision, have to win votes by division. And refugees are easy pawns.
⠀
But when we see the human side of the story, we understand that these are just ordinary people looking for a better life. And we should do everything to help them.
Happy New Years Bloomers. It’s been a little quiet on our feed the last few months as we took time to regroup our efforts and energy to recalibrate and rebirth a new version of our BLOOM Festival. For the past 6 years we have our community (that’s you) everything we had to give. Somewhere along the way we totally woke up and started sharing our own gifts and in sharing our own gifts, an entirely new life possibility arose within us and our lives expanded in so many ways and we literally BLOOMED. When we committed to the festival 6 years ago, what we see now is that we committed to a process that evolved from putting our soul calling into the world. When we brought a new soul into this world our lives changed and the importance and urgency to make the work we do something that positively impacts our community locally and globally. We are beyond excited to share that BLOOM Festival is coming back this Spring 2019 in our beloved hometown of #edmonton we hope that the community rises with us to create, collaborate and enjoy each other in the loving space and process that is BLOOM. We will be sharing much more in the coming weeks, we have a line up in mind that we are very very excited about bringing to #yeg share a heart below if you are excited to BLOOM with us again.
