Workshops with Janet Stone at Bloom

It has taken us close to 3 years to have Janet Stone finally join us in Edmonton for Bloom.

As a global yoga warrior and servant to the breath, Janet is a student of this heart journey. She is based in San Francisco and lends a wealth of knowledge and yoga experience to create a unique, vigorous approach to vinyasa yoga.

Janet Stone’s studentship began at 17 under the meditation teachings of Prem Rawat. His reverence for simplicity and finding joy in the rise and fall of life live on in her practice and teaching today.

In 1996, she traveled to India, the birthplace of her grandfather, and became dedicated to the path of yoga. Janet blends the alchemy of her own practice with decades of studentship. She aspires not to teach but to allow the practice to emanate from her, letting awareness blend with movement and breath. Based in Bali and San Francisco, she leads immersions, retreats, workshops and more.

Chanting 101

Explore the devotional practice of chanting in its most accessible form. We'll look at the practice of chanting not as something that we perform but as a practice of awakening our hearts and remembering our deepest nature, which at the core is radiant light. We'll unpack the seemingly complex sounds and see how they can become powerful tools to know oneself and therefore all beings more intimately. 

Ganesha Flow

We’ll start by placing our roots deep into the earth, where Ganesha, “the remover of obstacles,” resides. This workshop is designed to help you find stability from the ground up, so you can stay balanced amid life’s challenges, on and off the mat. You’ll bring fierce strength to your legs and hips through standing poses, ignite your core power, and liberate your upper body with backbends –all to allow you to remain steady and open in the face of any obstacle that arises.

Svadharma | Finding your path

On our mats and off, in asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, and the way we live, we explore, receive, and embody the ancient teachings of yoga. Yet each of us has a unique path through the lineage, and in this workshop, we’ll explore techniques for discovering this unique path, our svadharma, our own expression of the dharma.
